Happy Fall!

I hope you are doing well, staying healthy, and have enjoyed the summer weather that we had in Ontario. It’s been a long time since I have connected with you on this platform and wanted to update you on a few things that are going on at the clinic.

It has been a very different and difficult couple of years for many individuals with the economy shutting down for a lengthy period of time last year and those that have had to work from home have suffered with aching muscles due to poor ergonomic setups outside of their usual office environment. Shutting down my practice for three months and reopening in June last year with higher overhead cost due to the PPE required, purchasing new required products for cleaning purposes, and adding more time in between clients for the additional sanitization has forced me to consider a change in my prices per treatment. It has been over five years since I have raised my prices, however, it is never an easy decision to make. Based on how this year has played out, I feel it is time to do so again and will be increasing my prices by $5.00 as of January 2022.

As the government continues to make changes, my governing body has been updating me on occasion regarding how it affects Massage Therapy clinics to help keep clients safe. You will be seeing a reflection of those decisions in the COVID-19 pre-screening form that I send out before each and every appointment. It is now no longer required for fully vaccinated clients to self-isolate after returning from out of country trips and this will now be reflected in the pre-screening. Those who are not fully vaccinated can still receive massage therapy treatment, however, they will have to self-isolate for two weeks after being outside of Canada prior to their appointment.

Since my return-to-work last year, the clinic has been extraordinarily busy. You might have found it more difficult to book treatments on a regular basis due to how booked up my schedule is getting. Please be aware that I do keep a cancellation list and because clients are no longer allowed to be treated when they have ‘cold-like symptoms’ due to COVID-19 risk, I do predict that cancellations will be more common, especially in the winter months. Feel free to reach out to me, if you are interested, to have your name put on the list with times and days of the week you might want an appointment and I will do my best to contact you if there is an appointment that becomes available. If you haven’t already booked for November and December, please visit my website to schedule an appointment.

Hoping you stay healthy and well during this unpredictable time!

In Health,
Jen Medeiros

Clinic Open through Second State of Emergency

I hope everyone had a good holiday and New Year. This is just a quick update since the premier recently declared a second State of Emergency for the province of Ontario which will be put into effect Thursday, January 14th. Massage Therapists are still allowed to work during this time and my clinic doors will continue to remain open. If you have an appointment with me this month, I will look forward to see you then and, as always, I will continue to update you about any future changes regarding the pandemic announcements and my clinic. Appointment times are booking up fast for the beginning of 2021, so if you don’t have one booked in yet, you can do so on my website.

COVID-19 Update

Due to the State of Emergency announced in Waterloo Region this past week and the mandate put forth by PHA and my governing college (CMTO), I will be temporarily keeping my Massage Therapy Clinic closed at this time. As I am unsure as to when it will be safe to reopen, I will be contacting clients on a weekly basis who have an upcoming appointment to cancel their treatments and will be placing them on a rebook list for when this outbreak has passed.
