Covid Updates

Happy Spring! I hope that you are doing well and staying healthy.

As we continue through 2022, the government and the Ministry of Health continue to make some changes regarding COVID-19 protocols in Ontario and since Registered Massage Therapists fall under the guidance and regulation of the Ministry of Health (MOH), we had been waiting patiently for decisions to be made on different public health measures. Our governing body (The College of Massage Therapist of Ontario – CMTO) has decided, based on the direction given by the MOH, that since RMT practice settings fall under ‘Health Care’ for the purposes of the mask mandate, all RMTs and their clients will be expected to continue to wear a mask until at least April 27th, 2022. The mask mandate will be reassessed prior to April 27th and I will update you accordingly should there be any changes to the policy.

Client screening, RMT self-screening, contact tracing, and sanitization of touch points will continue to be implemented as procedures and protocols until future notice. As always, hand washing based off of Infection Prevention and Control standards and the CMTO’s Practice Standards will remain as part of clinic procedures.

In Health,

COVID-19 Update

Due to the State of Emergency announced in Waterloo Region this past week and the mandate put forth by PHA and my governing college (CMTO), I will be temporarily keeping my Massage Therapy Clinic closed at this time. As I am unsure as to when it will be safe to reopen, I will be contacting clients on a weekly basis who have an upcoming appointment to cancel their treatments and will be placing them on a rebook list for when this outbreak has passed.
